Warmline

  • According to Mad in America, "a warm line is an alternative to a crisis line that is run by “peers,” generally those who have had their own experiences of trauma that they are willing to speak of and acknowledge." At Monarch House, all of our peer supporters who answer our warmline have lived experience, and our calls are not traced regardless of the subject matter discussed. This allows us to run a completely anonymous support line with people who have experienced crises or other life interrupting events who use those experiences to connect with callers.

  • An open and available person on the other end of the line. Each call, just like each caller and each staff member, is different. The one shared experience in each call is that it's a conversation between two people with lived experience in challenges related to mental health, substance use, or other life interrupting events.

  • Beginning April 24th, 2020, Monarch House transitioned to providing warmline support to the entire state of Wisconsin, regardless of area code or location. We're extending our support area given the increase in the need for support during the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you live in Wisconsin but don't have a Wisconsin number, leave us a message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can. We are also available 24-hours a day, 365 days per year, so feel free to call in whenever it works best for you.

Wisconsin Milkweed Alliance (WIMA) is a peer-run organization (all of us have direct experience with mental health, substance use, trauma, or other life-interrupting challenges). We have a vision of a transformed culture built on mutual respect in which all people have the right to choose their own paths to healing and wholeness.

Your donation will help us continue to offer peer support and related services, including a drop-in center, virtual support, community events, wellness education, and advocacy.

Donations are tax deductible.
